Today is Day 2 of the Elf on the Shelf in my home. We begin the Elf on the Shelf on Black Friday every year. This year I am focusing on elf activities that bring my family closer together. I have three children. My oldest is a teenager and in high school. I also have a tween in middle school and a first grader. Time flies by so fast, and it seems like the older my children get the less family time we spend together. The Elf on the Shelf tradition is gifting my youngest with the belief in magic, and gifting my older children with a fun family tradition to pass on to their own family someday.
My New Year's Resolution this year is to have Family Fun Night once a month in my home. Whether we are playing games, watching movies, going out bowling, or another group activity, we will be spending uninterrupted quality family time together. The elves brought Frozen II Monopoly, and it is the perfect addition to Family Fun Night. Frozen II Monopoly is a great way to teach family values. One of the chest cards says, "Love is putting someone else's needs before your own." To activate Elsa’s Ice powers in the game you have to share one of your favorite family memories when you land on the ice spot or get the snowflake card!!!
